A cactus bit me!
Over spring break, I went home to California. I always see my friend, Luke, and so this time was no different! We went on a little hike, which just turned into an adventure as always. T'was a beautiful day out!
Plus, I had some new running shoes, so I needed to try to break them in and make sure that I love them! (which I do!)
I saw a colony of cacti with fruit on the tops, so I wanted to try them! Why not?!
So, being the kind friend I am, I tried to a cactus fruit off of the top, but it bit me first! I got pricklies all over my hand, so I had Luke grab it for me.
And now it is opened up! I wanted to try it, but I was a little scared. One, that it would stain my teeth, and two, that it would taste bad! So, I had Luke try it for me. I guess it was just pretty plain. Nothing too special about it.
I was so happy that day. Just a fantastic day! (Even though I had lots of cacti spikes in my hand!)
Sadly, the prickly things stayed in my hand for a long time. All day, and even into the next.
Moral of the story. Do not touch cacti. Even the baby fruits. They have worse prickles on them than the big ones because you can't get them out!
The Beauty of Easter
This Easter weekend has been a different one for me than usual. I have been met by new things that I haven't experienced before and have been a huge surprise. Easter is such a wonderful reminder of life. Christ's crucifixion and the resurrection and all that we can think about. I think about what He did for all of us, including me, in the Garden of Gethsemane, and that all of my sins are forgiven me. If he had not done all of this, we would not be able to return to be with Him one day. I owe everything to Him and need to be more grateful every day.

101 Dalmations
I am playing catch up. Oops! I have had this almost done blog post sitting here waiting to be perfected for a while. So here it is, flaws and all. A while ago now, (March 2-4) I got to go up to Provo to visit my brothers and best friend. Brothers? Yes, two of them. Andrew Philip, the biological one, and Christopher David Naylor, the non-biological one. Chris is someone that I have grown up my whole life, has been around me through my crazy times and fun times. He knows me like a sister and I love him like a brother. He is so good to me, and I am so lucky to have him in my life.
I got to see my best friend from home, Elizabeth Mary Ward! (aka Liz) She, as most people know, got her mission call to Taiwan!! I am more than thrilled for her and know that she will be such an incredible missionary. She has always been such an example in my life and such a good friend. People sometimes ask if we are still friends and if we talk because they don't hear about it all the time. She goes to BYU and is in the nursing program (YAY LIZ!) and busy with that and church. I go to SUU and am taking 18 credits, work (most) Saturdays, and am in Presidential Ambassadors with the school that takes some of my free time. Needless to say we both have a busy schedule. However, this does not mean that we are not great friends anymore. If I needed her, she would have my back, and if she needed me, she knows I would be there in a heartbeat. So, this was such fun to be able to spend lots of time and stay with her, and her wonderful roommates, one which I love, Allie Davis. She is such a sweetheart and so fun. I love seeing her when I go to Provo and see Liz!

Andrew and I got to do something fun, semi-unusual for the crowd we were with, but fun! We did a pub-crawl. Or, to be exact, part of one. It was a "run" as well. We sprinted around downtown Salt Lake City, and stopped at the pubs and bars. It was a 4 mile event, however we skipped out early because we were stopping for 45 minutes to an hour at each place. At that rate it would have been about an 8 hour race! So, we ran a bit back to the cars and headed out early. But, not before people saw us looking FINE as puppy dogs!
