Do Your Part

Today my group was on tutoring again. At first, I was not excited because that meant that I would have one less day on the colony and one less day of construction. After thinking about it I realized that I would love it and I was so excited to be with the kids for more time this day. It ended up being fantastic and I was so happy for the time I was able to spend with them, and I was even able to tutor my two favorites, Veeran and Sanjay! After tutoring today we had talent day. Some of the volunteers brought games or activities for the kids to do and today was the day that we presented them. The one I helped out with was Kaylee's! It was so much fun. She brought bean bags that she and her mom had made! It was so fun, andthe kids had no idea what they were. They got to have a new experience and win a bean bag if they won! (Winning consisted of getting 4 points from different distances of throwing them into buckets.)
First boy throwing bean bags! He was loving it!!
Long line here! It was a popular game to come to!
Kind of fell in love with this little boy. He was SO cute and so excited while watching the bean bag toss! He couldn't get enough!
Prithya kept taking pictures on my camera and this is one that she took. I just think she is so adorable! She is one of the children from the village so she comes to school and goes home. It is one of the ways that Rising Star helps to integrate people from a leprosy colony back with "normal" people from society.
One of the funniest things that happens all of the time here is that the little boys here LOVE to get their nails painted! It kills me inside! They get so excited to use nail polish and use different colors on each hand. So sweet.

Play time! Veeran drank all of my lemonade because once he drank a little bit I let him have the rest! I said just have the rest. So silly. I adore him...and love the little smile that he gives me when I see him every day!

Probably the funniest picture of the day. Carl and Veeran. So cute. They were being so silly!
I love this so much. I can't spell his name (oops) and Aubrie are always together. He adores her!
This sweet girl Salmia (sp) is in my "family" that I visit every night. She is one of the kindest girls that I know here and she is so young and knows so little English. She has no sponsors so far because she is so new to the school. I hope to be able to sponsor a child here and help them out just a little bit. I love everything that this organization does for these children. I am so grateful to be here and to be able to have just a small part in this great work!

I LOVE INDIA
